Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sliced tomatoes and lettuce for garnish
Instructions:
Warm up the grill or pan on the stove over medium-high heat
Add salt and pepper to the ground beef and shape it into 4 patties
Grill burgers for four to five minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat
To make a roux, stir in flour
Slowly add the milk and keep stirring until the mixture gets thick
Add grated cheddar cheese and mix it in until it melts and is smooth
The cheese sauce should have Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder added to it
Add pepper and salt to taste
You can grill or toast burger buns until they are lightly browned
On the bottom half of each bun, put a cooked burger
In a bowl, mix the rarebit cheese sauce and bread crumbs
Add lettuce and tomato slices on top
Put the other half of the bun on top and serve hot
